by Flora Anthonysamy

Date & Venue
14th - 15th Dec 2009,The Legend Hotel,Kuala Lumpur

Dear Friend,

When Toyota first introduces their TPS, the world was astound by the simplicity of the concept. No complex computer system needed, where as you only need yellow cards, tins or baskets to fulfill the "Just in Time" needs of the customer. Of course, it was definitely more than these to make it work. And when John Krafcik produced the international best-seller book co-authored by James Womack, Daniel Jones, and Daniel Roos called "The Machine That Changed the World", the term "Lean" was coined, which make the concept to another level of approach.

Lean, in basic terms, means the elimination of waste (or Muda, in Toyota-speak). Ohno identified seven wastes to be addressed by the Toyota system, and they have become known as the SEVEN WASTEs.

So what are the SEVEN WASTEs?

What is the cost of the SEVEN WASTEs?

And more importantly, what will you achieved if the SEVEN WASTEs are eliminated?

Come and explore with us!
